Defining the Future of Fleet - Topics for Discussion
The event will cover a range of key topics, including:
Planning For The Future
Professor Julia King, author of The King Review, will act as a futurologist, examining future technologies, Government targets and how policy makers and influencers will be shaping transport policy over the next decade.
Risk Management
The impact of the Corporate Manslaughter Act has been debated in many a conference but many solutions offered seem no more than just a tick in the box. This dynamic session will, through direct audience engagement, look to identify the top 5 areas of risk currently being faced and our resident barrister and corporate manslaughter expert, Gerald Forlin, will be on hand to offer his professional insights and views.
Funding and Taxation
This session will look at how you can ensure that the right policies are in place and how these strategies can be measured against core goals such as cost savings, driver satisfaction, risk management etc. It will also look at ways of managing the impact of complex tax legislation (including the complexities raised by grey fleets).
The Environment
Can environmental targets ever be compatible with the demand to make scarce resources go further year on year? Led by Nigel Underdown, who is currently Head of Transport Advice for the Energy Saving Trust, this dynamic session will consider the practicalities of implementing policies that make a difference both to today's budgets and tomorrow's environment.
Functions Specific Vehicles
With the majority of public sector fleets made up of function specific vehicles, we will look at ways of sharing best practice across a range of different scenarios and will examine ways in which it really is possible to increase efficiency and minimise the cost and service impact of vehicle downtime.
